Detailed Design And Construction Supervision For The Sungai Buloh River Improvement Works (Phase 1), Selangor, MALAYSIA

The main objective of the Project is to increase the flood protection level of the catchment and to control riverbank erosion. The main components of scope of works are summarized as below:

• Review the hydrological and hydraulic studies for the whole Klang Valley basin which includes all the Klang river tributaries besides the Klang river itself;
• Detailed design to increase the conveyance of the river comprises of deepening and widening of the river sections, construction of levees, realignment, bank protection using revetment, hydraulic structures, etc.;
• Detailed design of flood control gates for a few low-lying areas adjacent to the river; and
• Supervision for the construction works.

The detailed design works have been completed in early 2001 and the construction works anticipated to be completed by July 2004.
